Former Japanese War Cemetery Attu
This temporary cemetery held the remains of 261 Japanese soldiers and officers. The remains were exhumed and reburied at Fort Richardson in 1946 and cremated in July 1956.
Other Japanese war dead are still buried in numerous mass graves on the island.
