Jim Fish Valley
Lt. Col. Jim Fish III was the executive officer of the 17th Infantry Regiment. He was killed on 29 May 1943, during the Japanese breakthrough. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star Medal.
There are still four Japanese mass graves on the battlefield.
