Memorial 5th Line Regiment Kwatrecht
This memorial commemorates the casualties of the battle of Kwatrecht, in May 1940.
The plaque commemorates the soldiers of the 5th Line who fell during the defending of Ghent in May 1940.
The Kwatrecht church was deconsecrated and sold in 2018. The memorial plaque and the monument thus ended up in private hands. In 2023, the board of the Mariagaard school gave permission to place the memorial for the 5th Line on their school grounds (Oosterzelesteenweg 80 – Wetteren).
