Cold Bay Airfield (Thornbrough Field)

Cold Bay Airfield was buillt by the U.S. Army during the Second World War. It was used by the 11th Air Force against Japanese targets in Alaska. The airfield was renamed in honour of Captain Thornborough, pilot of B-26 40-1408, which crashed in 1942.
