Crash Site Consolidated B-24J Liberator (44-40132) "I'll Be Around"

This B-24J was hit in her belly on 7 July 1944 and exploded. Six crew members were killed. Four others were captured. The bomber flew 14 combat missions with 492nd Bomb Group. The air battle in which this bomber and 11 others were lost was named "Luftschlacht bei Oschersleben" by the Germans.
