Fort Henry was build in 1813 to defend and overlook St. Lawrence River. It was rebuild in 1832 to protect Rideau Canal. During the WWI, the site was used to interne Ukrainians as enemy aliens. The well of the original fort is still present.
Fort Henry and Kingston's fortifications are a National Historic Site and a World Heritage Site.
