Memorial Robert Gould Shaw
This memorial in Mount Auburn Cemetery commemorates Robert Gould Shaw, who was the commander of the first Afro-American regiment (the 54th Regiment) in the American Civil War (1861-1865). He was killed in Charleston, South Carolina on 18 July 1863.
