2nd Minnesota Infantry Monument

This memorial in DeLong Reservation National Military Park commemorates the 2nd Minnesota Infantry, involved in the Battle of Missionary Ridge.
The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought on 25 November 1863, as part of the Chattanooga Campaign. Union forces led by Major General Ulysses S. Grant attacked the Confederate Army of Tennessee on Missionary Ridge, forcing it to retreat to Georgia.
