The German Army new, besides the 'anerkennungsurkunden' provided by specific units, two formal Anerkennungsurkunden, the Anerkennungsurkunde des Oberbefehlshabers des Heeres for serviceman from the Heer and Waffen-SS and the Anerkennungsurkunde des OBdH für Flugzeugabschüsse van de Luftwaffe specifically meant for shooting down an aircraft.
