Operation near Dyon, carried out by 144 men of A-squadron, 1st SAS regiment. Their mission was sabotaging the railway between Lyons-Chalon sur Saone, Dyon-Paris, Lecruesot- Nevers. The SAS lost 18 men including 14 in a plane crash. The Germans lost 222 dead and 132 taken prisoner. June 6 th to September 6th, 1944
