George was born on October 22 1920 in Winnipeg, the son of Horace James Wilson (deceased in 1926) and Minnie M. Wilson nee Tristram (both English) of Winnipeg.
He was married on October 12 1941 in Winnipeg with Sheila Mary Wilson nee MacLeod of Winnipeg and their son was James Edward Wilson (1942).
His brothers were Barclay Horace and Edward Wilson (RCAF).
He was a stock clerk and member of the United Church.
He enlisted on May 23 1941 in Winnipeg and he went on August 31 1942 thereafter overseas to Glasgow Scotland and he disembarked on October 21 1944 afterwards in Belgium.
George was killed in action on Friday April 6 1945 age 24 while during the liberation of the town of Ommen his ‘Staghound’ was hit by a German Panzerfaust. He was temporarily buried there in Ommen before being reburied on April 4 1946 in Holten as well as the other in this armoured car fallen Tpr Gerald W. Soanes age 23.

He served with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons.
