    Biography

    Henk van Loenen was born o September 1st, 1915 as son to Herman Lucas van Loenen (1889-1977) and Jenneke Ruimerman (1888-1959). After his draft into the military service he became government serviceman at the airfield Soesterberg and in de opening of the war in May 1940 was responsible for guarding airfield Valkenburg. After the war days of May 1940 he entered the Organisatie van de Wederopbouw en van de Bouwnijverheid and the resistance organisation Ordedienst (OD).
