“Magnificent senior officer who, at the head of the 2nd Korean Battalion, showed the finest qualities of leader and trainer of men. On March 22 at Plei Rinh, the positions of GM 100 having been violently attacked by a regular rebel regiment, he was wounded at the start of the engagement. Despite his injury, he remained at his CP under a rain of mortars and automatic weapons fire, only accepting treatment at the end of the fight. His deputy and his intelligence officer having also been injured and the management of his battalion reduced to seven able-bodied officers, refused to allow themselves to be evacuated, thus continuing to ensure his command without any interruption, thus giving magnificent proof of courage and sense of duty. »

“Very courageous senior officer of rare energy, commanding the 2nd Korean Battalion. On June 24, 1954, 15 km west of An Khé (mountain plateaus of central Vietnam), it suffered a strong rebel attack centered on the GM 100 PC. Forced to retreat before numerically superior forces, regrouped his battalion at a post 15 km away after an exhausting march through thick bush. On June 28, 1954 during the march on PLeiku, he repelled a violent attack by 2 battalions carried out on the CP, the artillery and the convoy of the Group. Was admired by all, setting a magnificent example of a leader. »
