Biography
Wladyslaw Anders was a Polish general who served during World War I, the Great Poland Uprising (1918-1919), the Soviet-Polish War (1919-1921) and the Second World War. He was wounded eight times during his military service. His greatest achievement was the capture of the famous monastery of Monte Cassino in 1944. After the war, he lived in London in exile and eventually died in 1970.
