Citation:
"Distinctly distinguished himself by performing exceptionally courageous and tactful actions in the battle against the enemy, after being sent to occupied Holland as a radio operator-parachutist on 24 March 1943, during which his plane was shot down and his fellow comrade-agent was killed, by courageously acting, managed to bring himself to safety and, despite the loss of his radio equipment and other equipment, succeeded in carrying out his assignment and establishing a valuable radio connection for a large underground political-economic intelligence group. Furthermore, by subsequently making several dangerous journeys to the South of France and back to the Netherlands in order to establish a courier and escape connection and on 17 December 1943 returning to London via this connection line to report."
