“A Pomeranian defends Slawjansk - Oberstleutnant von Steinkeller honoured:
The Führer has awarded the Knight’s Cross to Oberstleutnant Friedrich-Carl von Steinkeller, commander of a Panzergrenadier-Regiment.
… His achievement is that he defended Slawjansk successfully for several days against great enemy pressure up until the city’s temporary evacuation.”
