    Captain Jacobus Groenwoud was killed when he volunteered to break the lines to search for help.

    Recommendation:
    For having displayed great courage and tact during the landing at Arnhem on September 17, 1944 as commander of a section of infantry by sneaking into a German headquarters and stealing some highly important documents, including the demolition plan for the port of Rotterdam.
    On his return, and being cut off from the main force along with some British troops, volunteering to try and penetrate the strong front line in order to restore the interrupted communication. He was killed during this effort.
