Biography

Heinz Marquard started his flying life at the age of 17 as a glider pilot and volunteered for the Luftwaffe in 1940.
1942 : fighter training in the JG 2 „Richthofen".
August 1943 : Eastern Front with the JG 51
November 1944 : awarded the RK credited with 89 air victories
Insgesamt wurden 121 Luftsiege
anerkannt, weitere 16 wurden nicht bestätigt. Am
1st May 1945 : shot down during an aerial fight and sent to a Lazarett where he became POW.
August 1956 : Leutnant and flight instructor in the BW .
Trained as a Jet pilot he became Jet instructor in the Waffenschule 10 in Oldenburg then Squadron leader in the JG 73.
30 September 1973 : retired as an Oberstleutnant.
