“Oberst Alfred Bülowius, Kommodore of a Kampfgeschwader, succeeded in cultivating a spirit of operational and offensive excellence among his Geschwader crews. He has also personally participated in most combat missions of his Geschwader. His unit achieved particular success while attacking English transport ships near Norway and off the French coast. The Geschwader was also very successful against military targets near Amiens and the Loire river as well as at the ports of Vlissingen, Dunkirk and Boulogne.”
