On the 24.09.1944 the Grenadier-Regiment 203 was deployed within the sector of the 20. Panzer-Division in the Klausenburg-Thorenburg area. Here, in the area north of Thorenburg, it repulsed all tank supported enemy attacks and immediately eliminated local penetrations with immediate counterthrusts of his own. Oberstleutnant Busse was inseparably involved in the success of his Regiment during this time, and for this reason he would be later awarded the Oakleaves to his Knight’s Cross.
