11.1934: Militärärztliche Akademie, Berlin
01.11.1935: transferred to the Luftwaffe
24.02.- 31.03.1936: Luftkriegsschule 2, Berlin-Gatow
06. - 30.10.1936: transferred to the Luftwaffe Sports School for medical training
01.1937: promoted to Unterarzt - Leutnant - Luftgau VI
22.12.1938: promoted to Arzt - Oberleutnant
01.02.1939: promoted to Oberarzt - Hauptmann
23.02.1940: transferred to the Fallschirmjäger-Sturmabteilung Koch
1939-1940: Fallschirm-Sturm-Bataillon Koch : Vroenhoven, Albert Canal in Belgium
As soon as he arrived, Jager began tending to the numerous wounded and injured paratroopers. Along with other medics he personally recovered the bodies of seven of his fallen comrades and recovered 24 wounded men whilst under heavy enemy fire, ignoring the severe risk to his own life
