King George VI of the United Kingdom was born as Albert Frederick Arthur George of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His father, King George V, changed the family name to Windsor due to the anti-German sentiment in July 1917. He was the last Emperor of British India from 1936 to 1947 and the last King of Ireland until 1949.
