Keith Banwell was Sergeant with 10th Btn, Parachute Regiment during the Battle for Arnhem. He joined the resistance group in Oosterbeek on 28th or 29th September 1944 where he, until the end of January 1945 helped escaping downed airmen across the Neder-rijn. He was eventually captured and survived Auschwitz.
His ashes were buried on the Airborne Cemetery at Oosterbeek on 17th September 1999.
Sergeant Keith Banwell's medal group is at display in the Airborne Museum Hartenstein in Oosterbeek, The Netherlands.
