Heinrich Dittlof was promoted to Hauptmann on February 1st 1945 and was killed in action on February 20th. He was married to Irmgard Dittlof. The couple had a daughter.

On the 02.08.1944 Dittlof and his Kompanie were one of the German units involved in counterattacking the Soviet forces that had penetrated through the German lines on both sides of the village of Maderniecki. They was put to flight and the old frontline was recaptured. Dittlof would later be awarded the Knight’s Cross for his contribution to this success.
