Josef Meister joined the German Army early in the War and was posted in Poland. Later he was transferred to Kurland and Russia.
During the years 1944-1945 he was attached to the 290.Infanterie-Division and during the 4th Kurland-Schlacht near Libau he was reported missing, believed killed in action.
