Oskar Hiebsch is supposed to have been awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 21st, 1945 as Kompanieführer Grenadier-Regiment 97. Besides a postwar transcription of his Soldbuch, no formal proof of this has been found yet and also no recollection in any sources on his Deutsche Kreuz and other decorations shown on the only drawing known of him.
