Heinrich Nietsche served as an officer with the Infanterie-Regiment 105. During the campaign in the West het served as "Kompanieführer" and during the campaign in the Balkans as "Bataillonsführer. Later he also served with his unit in the campaign in the Soviet Union. He ended his career as Kommandeur of the Grenadier-Regiment 105 and comitted suicide on 9th May 1945 near Leitmeritz/Bohemia, Czechoslowakia.
