Biography
During 14 operational sails (284 days at sea) he sunk a total of 15 ships with a combined tonnage of 73.015 BRT and damaged another ship of 4.996 BRT.
He served as Kommandant on "U 57" and "U 93" and as 3.Asto with Befehlshaber der Uboote. After the Second World War he served with the Bundeswehr, finally reaching the rank of Kapitän zur See.
