Joseph Henneböhl, also Joep Henneboel was born in Germany on 26th February 1909. Before the war he was a "krankenpfleger" (male sick helper). When war was eminent he was drafted with the Bahnpolizei (Railwaypolice), which later became a part of the Ordnungspolizei ("Grüne Polizei")
During the Second World War het was from 1942 stationed in the Netherlands as Hauptwachtmeister der Ordnungspolizei ("Grüne Polizei"). Here he worked together with the resistance. He stated it was his Christian duty to worn people for uncoming razzia's and he helped people to stay away or escape them. He ended the war as POW to the Canadians.
After his release he went living in the Netherlands and married a Dutch woman.
Later he was given the Dutch Nationality and changed his name in Joep Henneboel. He died in 1990.
