Biography

Jewish-German Fritz Kahlenberg fled out of Germany in the 1930's and started working as photographer and filmer in the Netherlands.

In 1944 he instituted together with Tonny van Renthegem the resistance organisation "De Ondergedoken Camera" (The Hidden Camera) which photographed and filmed secretly the activities of the German occupiers.

After the war, Fritz Kahlenberg and his wife Ingeborg Kahlenberg-Wallheimer emigrated to the United States. Both died in New York in 1996.
