    George Sebastian Speidel Jr. entered service on June 11th, 1931 as 2nd Lieutenant at West Point, New York.

    Career:
    September 1934 - June 1935: Regular Course, the field Artillery School (2nd Lieutenant);
    1940: West Point;
    July 1943 - September 1943: C & GSC;
    30th January 1947 - 27th June 1947: AFSC;
    21st August 1952 - 21st June 1953: AWC.

    Besides his World War Two related decorations, George S. Speidel also received an oak leaf cluster as his second Legion of Merit, the Army of Occupation Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defence Service medal and he was entitled to wear the Presidential Unit Citation.
