    Biography

    After WWII, Boleslaw Jarkowski studied engineering in Canada, the U.S. and Poland, culminating in a Doctorate of Engineering from Warsaw Polytechnical University. In 1961, Jarkowski joined the faculty of the School of Engineering at Tuskegee University in Alabama. On his retirement in 1979, he relocated to Jacksonville,

    "This officer has performed his navigational duties with great skill and success. He has participated in numerous attacks on important enemy targets, including three on Cologne and four on Bremen. As senior officer in the crew, he has shown a splendid example of leadership and endurance. On only two occasions has he failed to reach his main target, this being through no fault of navigation. He has undoubtedly contributed in a large measure to the high standard of morale of his crew."
