"This Officer since Jan 18 has set the highest example of bravery and leadership to his battery. At the first crossing of the Garigliano river and again at Minturno and Trimonsuoli, Major Webster spent many days in his forward observation posts, which were constantly under direct mortar and artillery fire for days and even weeks on end. His personal example and will to win at all costs greatly enthused his battery of 4.2in. mortars who successfully harassed and destroyed many of the enemy over a period of 6 weeks.
Although never out of danger himself from direct enemy fire this officer's cheerfulness and efficiency in giving continuous supporting fire did much to strengthen the effensive *** throughout the Brigade Group.
