"Staff Sergeant Lemieur, 36125027, infantry, company M, 13th Infantry Regiment for heroic service in connection with military operations against the enemy on August 27th 1944 in the vicinity of Brest, France. During an intense enemy artillery and mortar barrage, Sergeant Lemieur noticed that both an aid man and his patient were completely covered by earth, caused by the caving in of an embankment due to enemy fire. Although the concentrated barrage at the time was terrific, Sergeant Lemieur, without regard for his personal safety, rushed from his place of safety and succeeded in digging out both men before they suffocated. Entered the military service from Michigan"
