Citation:
"For unmeritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy for the period 17 September 1944 to 10 November 1944 in ***, Holland. During the initial stages of the Netherlands Campaign, First Lieutenant Frigo conducted his S-2 Section with such skill and ingenuity that he was able to provide his battalion with much complete and accurate information of the enemy, a factor which proved of highest value ,in the preparation of battalion defensive positions. On 22 September 1944 he became Battalion S-3 and performed the duties of this office according to his previous high standards. He made daily personal contacts with all battalion units in order to insure the tactical soundness of the battalion defensive positions, and continued to exercise great diligence in the coordination of the defense of the Battalion MLR, despite heavy enemy artillery, mortar, and small arms fire. The exemplary conduct of First Lieutenant Frigo enabled him to perform an important service to his regiment."
