“Oberst Dr. Beyer rendered extraordinary achievements on the 22. and 23.06.1941 . After successfully forcing a crossing over the Bug river he and his Regiment became the first to penetrate into the enemy bunker position near Janow. By doing so they played a major role in facilitating the Division’s breakthrough of the Russian border fortifications.”
