"This N.C.O. is driver of the O.P. tank attached to L/N Battery R.H.A. On the evening of 30 Nov near MUFTA, a tank battle was in progress. The O.P. officer saw an abandoned gun and with the help of L/Cpl Gunn tied it on behind the tank. L/Cpl Gunn showed the greatest of coolness in this which took some time under fire at close range. He continued to drive his tank, the gun in tow till the battle ceased at nightfall.
He has continued to show the greatest coolness and courage on all occasions."
