Marius Melchior married Jantje Jacoba Kremers on October 24th, 1934. The couple had three children.

Docter Melchior was a member of the resistance. On December 4th, 1943 he was shot at in Beverwijk but he was not hurt.
Participents in the attempt were Mollis, Piet Jan Smid and Peeze-Binkhorst and probably it was an attempt to assassinate Spaan.
