Biography

Lawrence Neville Brand was born August 13th, 1920, the son of Leo Thomas Brand (June 24th, 1892 - April 18th, 1985) and Helen Louise Brand-Davis (August 4th, 1900 - October 23rd, 1991). He joined the army in 1939. In the army he already made a acting career in military instruction films. He left for Europe on December 9th, 1944, arriving December 16th. He took part in the Battle of the Bulge, in the fighting for the Rhineland and Central Europe. September 17th, 1945, he returned to the U.S. After the war he studied at the American Theater Wing and had his first movie role in 1950 in "D.O.A." In 1953 he participated in the movie "Stalag 17". Until the end of his career he would play in many movies.
