Recommendation:
He has distinguished himself in combat against the enemy by exceptionally courageous and tactful actions, having been put ashore after February 1942 near Katwijk aan Zee as agent organiser and for having fullfilled the duties allocated to him by the Dutch government and the Allied army leadership in a most tactful manner under very trying circumstances.
In particular by having managed to set up an organisation which frequently succeeded in passing valuable military information to England.
Furthermore, after the situation had turned extremely dangerous for him and many persons around him had been arrested, by continuing to fullfill the tasks alloted to him with total disregard for his own safety, without getting reckless however until he was overpowered by the enemy at the end of May 1942 and after having been incarcerated in vaious prisons and concentration camps in the Netherlands, ultimately being transported to Germany from where he did not return.
