Biography

As member of the Hitler-Jugend he joined the Schutzstaffel in 1937 and enrolled one year later for a four year service in the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, SS-Verfügungstruppe.
Beeing an elite driver, SS-Oberscharführer Reimling has participated in all heavy combat. In short time witihin the 2nd Company, SS-Panzer-Regiment 1 LSSAH he managed to destroy 25 tanks and 8 paks.
SS-Oberscharführer Hans Remling died in march 1943 during fighting in the Third Battle of Kharkov

The Knight’s Cross recommendation for SS-Oberscharführer Hans Reimling reads as follows…

"Reimling has always placed his tank as the lead vehicle of the I./Pz.Rgt. 1 LSSAH, in this time being himself hit twice. On the other hand he has since the 11.02.1943 destroyed the following enemy materiel, sometimes at very close range:

- 15 x 7.62cm guns (long)
- 10 x 7.62cm guns (short)
- 8 x 4.5cm anti-tank guns

Reimling is a great example of personal bravery for the whole Abteilung and the high award of the Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross would be a great honour for him."
