"The onset of WWII brought jobs to Mobile, working in the shipyards. Pat left a protected job in the Ship Yard and volunteered to fight in General Patton's 3rd Army. He was one of four Cahoon brothers who served in combat simultaneously during WWII. He was with Patton's forces when they rescued the 101st Airborne from Bastone. His brother B.L. was a membe of the 101st glider corps. They were able to meet each other on the other side of the world. Pat was the recipient of a Bronze Star for his actions on the road to Berlin."
