As reported yesterday, the battleship Bismarck, after her victorious battle off Iceland, was on 26 May hit by a torpedo from an enemy aircraft and left unmanoeuvrable. According to the last radio message received from Chief of Fleet Admiral Lütjens, the battleship was attacked and sunk on the morning of 27 May by overwhelming enemy forces. She sank with her flag flying, taking her commander, Captain Lindemann, and her brave crew with her.
