The North African Campaign had made every conceivable call on the many and varied duties of the Royal Engineers. These calls upon their resources have invariably been met with skill and promptitude. A very large measure of this success must be attributed to the ability, tireless endeavour and force of character of this officer. He has undoubtedly performed a great service to 5 Corps and to First Army as a whole."
