Biography

Hendrick Geysen lead an exploration to Antarctica. Geysen Glacier is a large tributary to the Fisher Glacier, flowing northeast between Mount Bayliss and Mount Ruker in the Prince Charles Mountains of Antarctica. It was plotted from air photos taken by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in 1956 and 1957, and was named by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia for Hendrik Geysen, officer in charge of Mawson Station, 1960.

Henk married Joan Spence a mother of six children Robyn, Anne, Gregory, Sandra, Barbara and David Spence.
