This officer commanded a battery in the Line during the operations of August, September and October, 1918, and rendered sterling service, both by his untiring devotion to duty and exceptiinally trying conditions, and by his conspicious ability.
During the operations of the 24/25th October, 1918 which resulted in the smashing of the HINDERBURG LINE, this officer's battery advanced into action in front of HARGICOURT. The enmey shelling was exceptionally heavy and accurate, two guns being out out of action bu direct hits. Nevertheless, Major MORRIS, by his personal command and example, enabled all tasks to be fulfilled, at a time when gun power was of primary importance.
This officer has at all times displayed conspicious gallantry and devotion to duty.
