"Private First Class Louis F. Horwath (Army Serial Number 3929670), Field Artillery, 119th Field Artillery Group, United States Army, is awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in Germany, on 1 March 1945, in connection with military operations against the enemy. As wireman, Private First Class Horwath distinguished himself by showing extreme courage and executing difficult signal repairs under heavy enemy fire. On several occasions, Private First Class Horwath has volunteerd to perform wire maintenance while the wire lines were known to be under fire from the enemy. The courage and complete devotion to duty displayed by Private First Class Horwath reflect great credit upon himself and the Military Service. Entered Military Service from California."
