"This officer has commanded the 11th Battery from 1st February 1918 to September 1918 and has proved a most capable and efficient Battery Commander. From April to September 1917 during the operations on the SOMME, he has handled his battery with marked skill and ability, employing forward guns and sections with sound judgment and discretion. On one occasion on the 27th August 1918 at VERMANDOVILIERS, East of AMIENS, his battery was so well disposed that its fire effect enabled the whole line to advance in this vicinity. On all occasions he has displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty."
