When the battalion to which he was attached suffered numerous casualties in conflict with the enemy, Private Krim displayed outstanding devotion to duty in evacuating wounded from the battle area. Carrying each casualty for a distance of two miles through swampland and over steep hills, Private Krim and other litter bearers labored unceasingly under continuous enemy fire, and, as a result of their efforts, contributed materially to the saving of lives among the wounded. Entered military service from Brooklyn, New York."
