Pieter Ingelse from Middelburg was active in the resistance. He was arrested by the Landwacht on 29-8-1944 and ended up in KZ Neuengamme via Kamp Amersfoort on 10-9-1944. On 3-5-1945, he was killed in the Cap Arkona disaster.

Pieter Ingelse's name appears on the monument on Abdijplein in Middelburg.
